Description

This is the first in my series of “Inside Out” pieces. I’ve done rustic pieces in the past where the bark surrounds the bottom two-thirds of the piece, and the more refined, finished part occupies the top third. This time I decided to put the refined bit in the middle instead. I think it evokes a sense of wonder when you look at a raw piece of wood and wonder what beauty is inside it – kind of like a sculptor working with a block of marble.
