Google “Yard of Ale”. I’ll wait.

This is easily the tallest candlestick I’ve made to date. Made from a single piece of locally sourced hickory, it measures 13″ tall and holds a single tea light or votive. While a yard of ale is exactly that – a yard, or three feet – I felt that might be pushing the boundaries of stability (not to mention dimensions of my lathe). So I settled on one foot plus one inch, and called it a “baker’s foot” (as opposed to a baker’s dozen…get it? Remember, I’m not the baker). It’s a fun piece and would look great just about anywhere.
